The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Felix Bird (ASN: 1389424), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 132d Infantry Regiment, 33d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Consenvoye, France, 9 October 1918. Advancing alone against a dugout, Private Bird captured forty-nine of the enemy, and killed one officer, who attempted to escape.
