Billman (ASN: 570919), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 47th Infantry Regiment (Attached), 4th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, at Sergy, France, July 29 – 30, 1918. Private Billman displayed conspicuous bravery by administering first aid to wounded soldiers in areas swept by shell and machine-gun fire.
