Bailey (ASN: 550543), United States Army, is cited (Posthumously) by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company E, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Moulins, France, on 15 July 1918, Sergeant Bailey, unaided, killed two enemy machine gunners and captured a third with his machine gun. Sergeant Bailey, unaided, killed two enemy machine gunners and captured a third, together with his machine-gun.
