The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Glen G. Weinman (ASN: 43179), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company M, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, south of Soissons, France, 20 July 1918. Corporal Weinman carried an important message through heavy artillery and machine-gun fire calling for reinforcements and ammunition. Notwithstanding the fact that two previous runners had been killed, he carried out hit mission. His individual gallantry contributed materially to the success of the operation.
