Wilson Brown graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1902. As Commanding Officer of the submarine U. S. S. PARKER, he earned a Navy Cross in WWI. From 1938 to 1941 he served as Superintendent of the Naval Academy. Dring World War I, although not an aviator, he commanded an air task based in the U.S.S. Lexington. And also earned a Distinguished Service Medal. He was aid to President Roosevelt and retired as Vice Admiral in 1944.
