Kelly (ASN: 1527621), United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Kelly distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Headquarters Company, 147th Infantry Regiment, 37th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Iviory, France, 26 September 1918, while assisting a wounded comrade to a place of safety under heavy enemy fire.
