    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Camille Walch, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Chief of the French Artillery attached to the 1st Army Corps, American Expeditionary Forces, during the Meuse-Argonne offensive, General Walch rendered us services of noteworthy distinction. His services were continuously marked by his qualities of leadership and military attainments, which were of a high order. Displaying tireless energy and devotion to his arduous duties, he strove diligently that our Infantry might have all the benefits of efficient Artillery support.
