The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Judge Advocate General Felix Cassel, Royal British Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Judge Advocate General of the British forces, he ably assisted the American authorities with whom he came in contact. By his sound advice and able counsel on all questions affecting military justice he rendered services of great value to the American Expeditionary Forces.
