The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Corporal Aaron Yamin (ASN: 1701168), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company B, 306th Infantry Regiment, 77th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in the forest of Argonne, France, 27 September 1918. Corporal Yamin displayed exceptional bravery by volunteering to cut a strip of enemy barbed-wire to make an opening for his company, which was, at that time, under heavy fire from artillery and machine-guns. In performing this mission this soldier received wounds from which he afterwards died.
