Lucia (ASN: 2340082), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving as a Runner with Company M, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private First Class Lucia carried an important message through a heavy artillery barrage near Le Charmel on 27 July 1918, after several other runners had failed to get through.
