(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Private Daniel Pisani, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for courage and devotion to duty under shell fire while serving as a cook with Company C, 304th Engineers, 70th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during World War I. After enemy fire continually battered his cook wagon, he alternated between a rifle and repairs on the cooking gear.
