Hubbard (ASN: 44163), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company L, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Cantigny, France, 2 June 1918. Private Hubbard went forward, under intense machine-gun and artillery fire, and assisted in the removal of a wounded soldier, over a distance of one kilometer.
