The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Milan Dabney (ASN: 2293685), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company B, 348th Machine-Gun Battalion, 91st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Eclisfontaine and Tronsol Farm, France, September 27 to 1 October 1918. Throughout five days of action Private Dabney maintained liaison between company and battalion posts of command, repeatedly passing through the enemy’s barrages, and constantly subjected to enemy sniping.
