The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Sergeant First Class Percy T. Collinge (ASN: 2284355), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 316th Engineers (Attached), 91st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Very, France, October 1 – 2, 1918. Sergeant First Class Collinge courageously and skillfully directed his men in giving aid to wounded soldiers under heavy shell fire. After being wounded he continued on duty until weariness forced him to go to the hospital. Within two days he was again with his detachment.
