The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant of Cavalry Bernard C. F. M. X. E. G. Le Pelletier de Woillemont, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Liaison Officer with the 2d Division he participated in all the battles in which the division was engaged. By his loyal devotion to duty, whole-hearted spirit of cooperation, and high military attainments he rendered invaluable services to the American Expeditionary Forces.
