Sergeant Koch distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Supply Company, 315th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, France, 6 – 7 November 1918, in supervising ration carrying details under heavy shell fire.
