Jensen (ASN: 544544), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with the 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Sergeant Jensen displayed exceptional heroism in action and leadership at Mezy, France, on 14 July 1918. Sergeant Jensen led a patrol through houses known to be occupied by enemy snipers. On the withdrawal from Mezy, Sergeant Jensen was in command of the rearguard and displayed exceptional capacity for leadership.
