Corporal Jensen distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Headquarters Company, 28th Infantry, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during the operations connected with the capture and defense of Cantigny, France, 27 to 31 May 1918. Corporal Jensen assisted in the capture of a German machine gun, put it in working order and fired about nine hundred rounds of ammunition at the enemy who were making an attack.
