Hunn (ASN: 2176936), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Hunn distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 353d Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Xammes, France, 17 September 1918, in going to the rescue of a wounded soldier under heavy shell fire.
