The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pride in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit (Posthumously) to Colonel (Field Artillery) Kenneth R. Kenerick, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from December 1951 to August 1959. [This award supersedes the previous posthumous award of the Commendation Ribbon with Metal Pendant to Colonel Kenerick for meritorious service during the period 23 October 1958 to 26 August 1959, as announced in General Order Number 71, Headquarters 1st Region, U.S. Army Air Defense Command, Fort Totten, New York, dated 17 September 1959.]
