    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Second Lieutenant (Air Corps) George W. Code (ASN: 0-443504), United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving with the *** Bombardment Group, TENTH Air Force. Lieutenant Code has, during the period 29 October 1942 to 7 April 1943, participated in combat missions totaling more than 200 hours. These flights in which he has flown from bases in India and China, far over enemy territory, have been eminently successful. By his diligent attention to duty and the superior execution of his assignment as bombardier of a combat team in heavy bombardment aircraft, he has, as a vital part thereof, contributed much to the success of many missions. The operations in which he has flown constitute acts of extraordinary achievement in aerial flight and reflect the highest credit on the military forces of the United States.
