The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Air Corps) Herbert W. Davis (ASN: 0-397389), United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight with the *** Fighter Group, TENTH Air Force. Captain Davis, as pilot, has participated in more than fifty operational missions, during which exposure to enemy fire was probable and expected, over Burma and China between 24 April 1942 and 22 April 1943.
