(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: First Lieutenant (Corps of Engineers) Maxwell Adolph Neumann (ASN: 0-25461), United States Army, was awarded the Soldier’s Medal (Posthumously) for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy at Saidor, New Guinea. First Lieutenant Neumann lost his life while attempting to rescue another soldier from drowning.
