The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Corps of Engineers) Thomas Kaboth Ryan (ASN: 0-472142), United States Army, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving with the 378th Engineer Combat Battalion, 2d Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy in Korea from 7 October 1950 to 10 October 1950. Captain Ryan’s outstanding courage and dedication to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.
