The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Second Lieutenant (Air Defense Artillery) Michael Clair Goodridge, United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy on 21 August 1987 while assigned to Battery B, 3d Battalion, 61st Air Defense Artillery. (This award supersedes the Army Commendation Medal awarded to Second Lieutenant Goodridge, for meritorious achievement on 21 August 1987, as announced in Department of the Army Permanent Orders 146-17, Headquarters, 3d Armored Division, APO New York 09039-1400, dated 4 December 1987.)
