Hymovich, United States Army Air Forces, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a member of the FIFTH Air Force, while participating in 50 operational flight missions including the escorting of bombers and transport aircraft, during which hostile contact was probable and expected.
