The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Silver Star to Captain (Infantry) Antonio J. Gaudio (ASN: 0-322995), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Headquarters, 83d Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 5 April 1945, in Germany. The outstanding courage and conspicuous devotion to duty displayed by this officer reflects great credit upon himself and the finest traditions of the military service.
