The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit (Army Award) to Brigadier General [then Colonel] Don O. Darrow (ASN: 1270A), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Senior Staff Officer and Advisor to the Air Force Delegate of the United Nations Armistice Delegation from 9 July 1951 to 8 May 1952 and 22 April 1953 to 6 July 1953. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Darrow and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Armed Forces. (This award supersedes the award of the Bronze Star Medal to General Darrow, published in General Orders 20, United States Army Forces Far East, 22 January 1953.)
