The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Private First Class Larry A. Perkins (ASN: US-52684781), United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy on 21 April 1967, when he disregarded personal safety to rescue a fellow mechanic from possible electrocution. He pulled the man from the electrical current and prevented further injury to his fellow serviceman. This act of bravery was done with the knowledge that he also might be electrocuted. The outstanding accomplishment of Private Perkins was exceptionally meritorious and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
