The Secretary of the Army of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal to Staff Sergeant John Badger, United States Army, for meritorious service as Operations Chief, 1-167th Infantry Battalion, Regimental Support Command-Southwest, from 17 August 2012 to 1 May 2013 during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Staff Sergeant Badger demonstrated excellent leadership ability and attention to detail in support of NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan. His tireless effort and continued determination were instrumental in the overall continued success of Regional Support Command-Southwest. The distinctive accomplishments of Staff Sergeant Badger reflect great credit upon himself, Alpha Company, 1-167th Infantry Battalion, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan and Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan and the United States Army.
