(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat “V” to Captain Charles Adolph Larson, United States Air Force, for heroism while participating in aerial flight in Southeast Asia on 18 July 1972. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Air Force.

Larson, United States Air Force, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force while serving with the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Cam Ranh Bay Air Base, South Vietnam, in action over Southeast Asia, in 1967 and 1968. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Captain Larson has reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
