The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Staff Sergeant Herman T. Heredia, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious service from 14 August 2007 to 7 November 2008 as a Squad Leader while conducting combat operations during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Staff Sergeant Heredia’s actions contributed immeasurably to the success of building a free and democratic nation for the citizens of Iraq and to the efforts to win the Global War on Terrorism. Staff Sergeant Heredia’s professionalism and commitment to excellence reflect great credit upon him, the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Multi-National Division-North, and the United States Army.
