The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Airman’s Medal to Sergeant Thomas R. Green, United States Air Force, for heroism involving voluntary risk of life at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, on 21 May 1973. On that date, Mr. Ernest M. Christ was found to be in a state of unconsciousness as a result of his contact with a large construction crane that became entangled in high voltage lines. Following artificial respiration and chest massage by Sergeant Green, Mr. Christ recovered consciousness. By his courageous action and humanitarian regard for his fellowman, Sergeant Green has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
