The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Sergeant First Class Robert B. Gimenez, United States Army, for meritorious service while deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as a mentor to the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police and as a liaison to the French Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team from 25 January 2007 through 24 January 2008. His commitment to mission resulted in the success of the ANA, ANP, and OMLT both in training and in combat operations. His dedication to mentoring the ANA and ANP and to supporting the French OMLT was instrumental in setting the conditions for the future stability of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. His performance in a combat zone reflects great credit upon himself, the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Combined Joint Task Force PHOENIX VI, the United States Central Command and the United States Army.
