The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Infantry) Earl Lewis Ringler (ASN: 0-16431), United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Chinese Advisor to the 2d and 53d Chinese Armies, from 1 November 1943 to 15 March 1944 and from 20 November 1944 to 4 May 1945.
