The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Air Corps), [then Lieutenant Colonel] James Edwin Roberts (ASN: 0-22541), United States Army Air Forces, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Director of Training at the B-26 Marauder School at Del Rio, Texas, from 3 December 1942 to 2 February 1943, and from 3 February to 30 July 1943. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Roberts and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
