The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Lieutenant Colonel (Military Intelligence) Joseph C. McCormick (ASN: 0-71837), United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States while serving with the 45th Military Intelligence Company, 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, 525th Military Intelligence Group, in the Republic of Vietnam from July 1968 to July 1969.
