The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Corporal Anginaldo E. Jiron (ASN: US-55175104), United States Army, for meritorious service while serving with Company K, 3d Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division, in connection with military operations against an armed enemy in Korea during the period 22 May 1952 to 2 April 1953. Corporal Jiron, serving as Squad Leader, performed his duties in a superior manner. Training the men of his squad, he willingly gave them full benefit of his extensive combat knowledge and experience, enabling the men to meet and overcome the difficulties encountered on the battlefield. The courage, calm self-assurance and conscientiousness he displayed, coupled with his thorough knowledge of the ever-changing tactical situation, served as an inspiration to those about him and contributed materially to the combat effectiveness of his unit. Corporal Jiron’s outstanding skill, initiative and untiring devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and the military service.
