(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Glenn E. Sill, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection with military operations against the enemy while serving as Senior Advisor to an Republic of Vietnam Army unit, in action in Cholon, Republic of Vietnam, on 8 February 1968. As Vietnamese troop carriers entered the narrow streets they came under anti-tank rocket fire, disabling the first carrier and wounding two Vietnamese soldiers. Captain Sill ran to the carrier and carried the wounded men to safety. He then helped extinguish the fire caused by the rocket. When the carrier was again fired upon, Captain Sill located the enemy rocket crew and fired at them with his own weapon, destroying the enemy position. He helped the Vietnamese driver start the crippled carrier and insured that the vehicle was covered by machine gun fire during the withdrawal.
