The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Charles C. Crabb, Jr. (AFSN: 0-3155899), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a U-2 Aircraft Commander at a forward operating location of the 100th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing in Southeast Asia on 29 November 1975. On that date, while flying an extremely hazardous mission, Major Crabb displayed exceptional airmanship and professional skill in securing intelligence information of vital importance to the nation’s security. His achievement contributed immeasurably to the successful accomplishment of the Wing’s mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Crabb reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
