With complete disregard for personal safety, Major Greene carried out a reconnaissance during which his tank was knocked out by an enemy mine. He mounted another tank to carry out his daring mission behind enemy lines. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Major Greene, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
