(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Private First Class John P. McHugh (ASN: 33811309), United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with the 341st Infantry Regiment, 86th Infantry Division, along the Ruhr River, on 15 April 1945. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Armed Forces.
