The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Sergeant Francis C. Green, United States Army, for bravery in action during the period 1868 and 1869, while serving with Company K, 8th U.S. Cavalry, in action in the Arizona Territory.
