The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” to Private First Class Tim M. Beach, Jr. (ASN: RA-18281236), United States Army, for heroic achievement while serving with Company K, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2d Infantry Division, on 30 July 1951 in the vicinity of Taeusan, Korea. On that date during an attack on well fortified enemy positions, the company met heavy enemy small arms, automatic weapons, grenade and mortar fire. When the radio operator became wounded during the action, Corporal Beach operated the radio and established and maintained contact with the company throughout the attack. Upon reaching the crest of the hill, the platoon leader was wounded by enemy fire. Corporal Beach, with complete disregard for his personal safety, went to the wounded man’s aid and carried him to a position of safety. He then returned as platoon sergeant and encouraged the men, by his daring leadership, to continue in the attack. The heroism in action displayed by Corporal Beach reflects great credit upon himself and the military service

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Tim M. Beach, Jr. (ASN: RA-18281236), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Company K, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2d Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy on 17 May 1951, in the vicinity of Pungchon-ni, Korea. During a counterattack launched by his company, Private Beach, with complete disregard for his own safety, charged fiercely into enemy positions with rifle fire and grenades. Utterly disregarding the intense enemy fire directed at him at point-blank range, he joined in the final assault with fixed bayonet, charging boldly into the enemy positions, driving the enemy before him and inflicting heavy casualties upon them. The gallantry displayed by Private Beach reflects great credit upon himself and upholds the highest traditions of the Military Service of the United States.
