By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Albert H. Trommer (ASN: 541690), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company F, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on 15 July 1918, at Fossoy, France, Sergeant Trommer showed utter disregard for danger and rendered service of the most value in fighting on the right flank of the 7th Infantry Regiment. He was placed in command of a hastily organized force of about eighteen runners and signal men which took up position and opened fire on a force of enemy estimated at about 250 yards distant.
