Trommer (ASN: 541690), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant Trommer distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Fossoy, France, 15 July 1918, while leading his men in the attack.

Trommer (ASN: 541690), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company F, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on 15 July 1918, at Fossoy, France, Sergeant Trommer showed utter disregard for danger and rendered service of the most value in fighting on the right flank of the 7th Infantry Regiment. He was placed in command of a hastily organized force of about eighteen runners and signal men which took up position and opened fire on a force of enemy estimated at about 250 yards distant.
