Tidball (ASN: 2214729), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Tidball distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company H, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near La Tieulerle Farm, France, 23 July 1918, in crawling forward across an open field swept by machine gun fire and attempting to capture a house containing several enemy machine guns.
