No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Marshall Terrell (ASN: 105423), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant Terrell distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the 2d Machine-Gun Battalion, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Toul, France, 18 March 1918, and by his brilliant leadership.

No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Marshall Terrell, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant Terrell distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company B, M.G. Battalion, 2d Brigade, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during World War I. Sergeant Terrell displayed coolness and bravery during a gas attack when he awakened his men who were in dugouts, caused them to put on their gas masks, and then proceeded to the gun positions under a heavy shell fire. Later Sergeant Terrell took vigorous precautions which prevented many gas casualties.
