Tenney (ASN: 2178685), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Tenney distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Regimental Intelligence Section, 140th Infantry Regiment, 35th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, France, 26 September – 1 October 1918, in reproducing sketches under constant machine gun and artillery fire.
