Strothers (ASN: 5940), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private Strothers distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the Medical Detachment, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 2d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Tigny, France, 21 July 1918, in voluntarily going to the aid of wounded under heavy shell fire.
